My dad commutes a lot & basically only knows how to use his smartphone to make calls & play solitaire, so I'd buy him books on cd to play in his car. As he's gotten older it was one of his favorite ways to read, but all the books I wanted to get him this xmas are only available as digital downloads

and beyond this selfish reason, it seems terrible for media preservation for audiobooks to only exist on ephemeral hosting sites
