I think that Vance's sheer lack of charisma is widely recognized. It's almost as if Trump picked yet another successor with zero juice on the animal instinct to avoid someone who could outshine him.

I have hope that the lack of a clear successor who can command MAGA loyalty means that the movement will fracture after his death. Whether that ends up being good for the country, I don't know.
