You got it! Cyclamen flowers end up coiling and retracting back down to the ground. Once the capsules ripen, they pop open. The seeds come with a sugar coating so that ants will carry them off, nibble the coating, and then abandon them to sprout! 🌱🌎 #Invert

No, the photo was taken in October last year in France. As you say the little buds cover the ground around the cedar tree. Our cat Misti near the cedar :) The garden becomes a carpet of cyclamens. They spill out onto the country lane where folk dig a few up for themselves.
