What a treat!!
What a treat!!
It was so annoying to have to do work when I could be watching the birdies instead.
And Black Capped Chickadees are a favorite. So chaotic in the best way.
Thanks, I haven't memorized the different species so I didn't know which one this was. But between the calls and the antics I knew it was some kind of chickadee.
My husband teaches me. These guys hang out at our house in the winter and be silly-billies.
More birdies from the streamside gang. A junco and then some kind of sparrow I didn't know. Identification help welcome.
The final participant in the streamside gang was a little more shy but so cute! A nuthatch!
The sparrow is an immature White-crowned Sparrow.
That's the first thing I thought but I was like...this crown is not white. Thought maybe it was a female or juvenile but just as likely it could have been like...a cream crowned sparrow only found in the northern Rockies or something.
Cream-crowned Sparrow it is! Endemic to the Northern Rockies. Zonotrichia Coltoni. You write the paper, I’ll peer review it.
