Nobody has gotten a more thorough hearing than the Silicon Valley freaks have! The standards of what you need to know or how clearly you need to think have been completely suspended for them! Intellectual affirmative action for dopes who know less about the world than a bright ninth-grader does.

because a lot of people don't really know how a computer works, they assume it is magic, and tech dweebs do know how a computer works, therefore they are wizards. It's absolutely ridiculous

There’s a reason Rufo was successful with them though. He doesn’t tell them they’re dopes or don’t need to be heard. He assiduously courted them. A lot of folks on the left would rather be right than gain allies.

Rufo was "successful" with them because they were already bigots. There was no "courting" they just agreed with him. Same applies with his "success" at getting promoted by the NYT and other media outlets.

One of the fundamental issues is that no matter how fawningly or obsequiously the left tells them things, their ideas are at odds with what rich people want to hear. Leftist ideas clash with the very concept that the ultra-wealthy should even exist. How do you convince them to believe that?

It's literally the part of the Bible where Jesus very clearly and unambiguously tells the rich man how to get into heaven and he doesn't like the answer. I don't think telling the rich guy in a more fawning way would have accomplished anything

The entire combined undergrad population of the Ivy League is 70,000 students. Between 15-25 of those represent legacy admissions. So, you are talking about millions of “high achieving” families competing for maybe 20,000 open freshman slots each year. The “low acceptance rate” is the sales pitch.
