I don't understand why this is being relitigated now. 2020 was unprecedented and we did the best we could. One of my kids completely fell apart when schools were closed (for over a year, here) and still has ongoing learning deficits, but I'm not blaming anyone??
(Actually, no, I am blaming our school district which is crap and used COVID as an excuse to ignore students with serious mental health issues and IEPs. But that has nothing to do with COVID.)
I think it's bc Democrats overall are in a "maybe if we soft-admit the Republicans have a point about whatever they're worked up over, we can win some voters in the middle" pattern rn So they keep apologizing for immigration or trans rights or public health instead of standing up for themselves
