oh, that’s Saint Philomena. The story goes that she was sentenced to death by drowning (the anchor) and by being shot with arrows and that both means failed to kill her. The church I went to when I was little had a big statue with the anchor and arrows, I always loved her

I love St Philomena to the point where I was seriously considering changing my name to Philomena at the start of my transition. Several reasons why I decided against it, among which I really didn’t want anyone to call me Phil (additionally, significant religious trauma, lol)

oh and she still gets decapitated in the end. But I guess you don’t get to be a martyr if you have a happy ending
