somehow my main sim decided overnight to roam but not establish data connection which is Confusing™ and Concerning™ About to go out to a coffee shop, wish me luck that moving around the city fixes it somewhat (different KPN cell etc).

also ovpay is sooo janky, had cards work on metro but not trams, my phone used to be able to check into trams but only check out on right scanner, not left (?!), now I couldn't check in with my phone either, had to pull out another card.

i’ve been using it for the past 45+ days and it always worked fine for me, with turkish credit cards (both visa and mastercard), as well as a dutch debit card too (including apple pay on watch). in some cities like utrecht the machines on the busses are slow though, it takes two second to scan.

for me google pay sometimes works and sometimes not. gf's maestro girocard works on ams metro but not ams trams. physical mc/visa works p reliably for sure but I do like the german trust system a lot more (no fare gates, instead has random ticket checkers).

I had a similar but different issue in london too, there it wasn't google pay rejecting things but instead at some point my bank stopped letting me ride tfl with my google pay card, rejecting payments. The physical card outside google pay kept working tho, which was the weird part.

(yeah it's technically a different card on gpay as they issue a virtual number that maps to the same card, but if bank marks tfl as likely fraud on one card I expect them to mark it as likely fraud account-wide)

one nice part of camp is that switching rooms making you forget what you were doing is less pronounced because you just don't switch rooms it's just one big field (more or less) (yes tents exist but ime don't cause the same effect)
