OK, how about this being Helsley’s last game in a #Mets uniform? Do the Cardinals still harbor hatred for the Mets leftover from the 80’s, and they traded him to us to f us up? #MetsSky #LGM 💙🧡

😂😂😂
I don’t understand bringing him in to a close game. He has been horrible since getting here. Is this a FO decision - doubling down on a bad decision?
I hope that’s not it. There are only so many relievers on the team, and when starters can’t give the team any innings, guys like this are going to be exposed, it’s inevitable.
Yes, of course, but Raley and Hagenman were available. Anyone but Helsley should have been the choice in this instance.
ALL IN...I will buy him a ticket to Maui to take the rest of the season off and lay on the beach contemplating why he came to NY to suck, happily -and even throw in a small bar tab...Stanek can join him.
I miss having the Cubs and Cardinals as rivals. As for Helsley, if he can't figure out how to get people out, he should be DFA'd. Or maybe he should join Senga.
Strange thing is he was pitching well for them.
Cards fan here. Not particularly.
No, he wasn’t.
“Well” is a relative term here. Was his ERA below 9?
He kept the Tums factory (conveniently across the street from Busch) humming this year.
He’s making Mets fans reach for things a lot stronger than Tums.
My conspiracy theory; like when G|@^!ńË came here from the Braves, the instructions were “go fuck the Mets up real bad.”
Glavitage redux? I don't buy it; Helsley is in his walk year. He's blowing his next year payday along with the Met's playoff hopes.
Well, I meant it tongue in cheek, but if you ask Cardinals fans they’ll tell you that his stats from this year were better than his actual performance.
