If the US can’t stomach voting for a highly qualified woman (twice), then it’s not ready to vote for a highly qualified gay man to be president any time soon. Pete would make a fantastic president, but American voters won’t be ready until the Boomers are gone…and probably half of Gen X.

Yeah. Sad but true. We can’t be fighting those battles right now

While misogyny is rampant in america, I'm of the belief that they lost not only because they were women but because they were historically unpopular establishment right wing women who were shoehorned into candidacy with either a sham primary or none at all.

All things considered, everyone knew what was at stake and, still, 36% sat this one out and Trump won the majority vote. I think it’s less about the Dem candidates and more about 1) Dem focus on niche issues, 2) ~78M racist fucking idiots who could be beat if it wasn’t for 3) collective apathy.

I mean, I voted 3rd party because I wasn't voting for a genocidaire. Which is part of the right wing establishment complaint. Why vote for fascist-lite?

I agree with you - it's quite unfortunate.

I’ve seen other nervous Democrats say the same, but I haven’t seen anyone say they won’t vote for him because of his sexuality. In fact, I’ve seen the opposite. In Iowa & New Hampshire Pete won far more of the districts that went from Obama to Trump, and many people switched parties to vote for him.

I honestly don’t think Dems should run anyone but - and I fucking HATE to type this - a white, straight, attractive, taller than Trump male who can go toe to toe with him or any of his acolytes in 2028. This is just where the country is…and it sucks.

I think he'll run for Senate. What I know for certain is that he will have a lot of support no matter what he decides to do, and that includes me. I just know how important his voice is right now, and we need him in DC. 🙏🏾

Boring & safe doesn't inspire & RW squeaky wheels don't represent the voting public. In the last couple mos, his speaking engagements filled within min, and on one occasion they had to move the event to a larger venue. He also gained more followers on this platform than anyone in the 1st few days.

I’m a boomer and I’d vote for Pete as would most of my boomer friends.

I’m sure you and your friends would, but 51% of Boomers voted for Trump in 2024…52% of Gen X also voted for him. I stand by my original post.
