…if it is interpreted narrowly, then maybe that is a necessary sacrifice, but if it is interpreted broadly, then I think we are talking about either the death or the disenfranchisement of a shit ton of people.

I like that distinction. I very deeply want to keep bloodshed to a minimum. I do not want a civil war. I do not want a revolution. I think those things should be avoided at almost any cost,

That will be the trick. If we can stick to the democratic process then I think everything will be okay. On the other hand, If they throw out the baby with the bath water and abandon the democratic process entirely in order to hold onto power… well… then we have no choice.

Thinks are definitely worse then they have EVER been in that regard. I’m anxious for the mid term elections. I think how those go will be crucial. We may quickly find out how much worse things can get than they are now.
