This is my first time ever watching Batman Beyond, and I've honestly never seen anything like it. Terry's very obviously a teenager's dream in superhero form, cos who doesn't want to be frickin' Batman. But not only did they make it work, they made it work as a superb potential future Gotham.
It's 10% nostalgia and 90% original DC characters that to this day almost all only exist within this canon. The Timm/Dini DCAU has always been some of DC's best output, but Batman Beyond is an actual masterwork in adaptation, balancing nostalgia and freshness, and mixing up the source material
It's so disappointing that WB went back to Bruce Wayne when making "The Batman" instead of Robert Pattinson as Terry McGinnis. I'd really like Rocksteady to make a game about him if they have to pull the emergency batman lever after the failure of "Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League"
A modern Batman Beyond game would be absolutely perfect, I reckon. So much they could do with it.

Listen, it's been a hard day. I'm slagged, man.
I never really appreciated it as a kid, but now its one of my favorites. Rewatching it and seeing just how much creativity and freedom they had to create their own future and villains blows my mind.
