Honestly, if you like the game half as much as you purport you should be advocating for its success; for it to be competitive so it retains customers. Defending the game because you like it and telling customers to go elsewhere if they have complaints undermines your own means of entertainment.

Not really! YoshiP himself has said he wants people drop in and out and play other games aside from FFXIV. The last few years of video games have been STACKED. I already play two nights a week with my static, and we are nowhere near finished with DT, or older content for that matter.

I spend a lot of time talking about how much I love this game. I just got some friends who dislike MMOs to jump on the free trial. There's a difference between nitpicking on social media and offering creative criticism. CS3 has offered at least 2 polls in recent memory for players to send thoughts.

The idea that I have to complain about content that's barely a month old that's already getting fixes, and if I don't I'm giving asspats or contributing to the game's downfall, is extremely silly. XIV won't last forever, but I think it's still pretty competitive even if the EW-boom numbers are gone.

Would that Yoshi P would take his own advice and play other games, he seems woefully out of touch with what his competitors offer. You don't have to complain, but you don't have to rebuke or dismiss other people for having legitimate grievances (like the comments I've seen in this thread) either.

Yeah about your complaining about people with legitimate grievances. What was it you said in another thread, freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from criticism or some such?

Oh I see our disconnect now. You seem to think I'm saying all complaint are illegitimate, but that's not the case. Of course there are constructive, legitimate complaints about DT. It's not perfect! There are things I hope change too, many of which are systemic issues that'll take more than a patch.

But if you're arguing that ALL complaints ITT are legitimate, in the past 24 hrs I've seen: -ShB was nosedive from StB (lol) - Players shouldn't communicate outside of the game, and it's SE's fault they do that.

I've also seen people say independently that certain groups are being catered to, and others say they are being ignored. The "legitimate" criticisms aren't even consistent with one another.

While it's important for a team to accept feedback, that doesn't mean all feedback is equal, nor do players actually know how to fix things. ANYONE in game design will tell you this. You have to look at the root cause, not the symptoms.
