So you think racists keep their opinions to themselves MORE now? That they share them less? Because they have echo chamber outlets? Even as we see people openly put up swastikas and zig heil? Okay

Definitely not - I think the internet separates people into groups and the algorithm makes it more likely you find opinions that you find agreeable. I think this gives the illusion that whenever you do find racists that there is more of it. In fact, it's been there all along.
Okay at we agree on the bottom that the Internet separates people into groups and that the algorithm exacerbates that. When I say people are being more overtly racist, I'm not taking about seeing people online voice racism, I'm talking about people saying the quiet part of loud in the real world
I don't really understand the Nazi stuff - anybody who is willing to show a swastika in public in my area is going to get their ass kicked. But the Confederate flag is another matter. It's been ubiquitous my entire life.
Oh sure the Confederate flag flying is now overtly racist to you and me, but you'll notice they always couch the excuse behind "states rights" or "Southern pride" or some other bullshit. I wouldn't be surprised if they drop that pretense soon
Politicians tried that line but regular people all knew it represented white supremacy. That's the tie-in to the swastika. But it's hard to pretend to be a friend of Israel while being a Hitler apologist which is only one of the ways the MAGA movement is bat shit crazy.
