That article was 2023. Id like to see something more recent. So much has happened in the last few years and i see the NZ concerts are not till Feb next year.

The article was 2024. If he hasn't repudiated his position, it's reasonable to assume he still holds that position.
He's not alone, Radiohead also play Israel.
If it is true then that is very disappointing. I have never listened to Radiohead and have no interest in them.
He's using fence sitting language with his choice of words these days. He's trying to put all the blame on just the Netanyahu government and say it's not Israelis when it clearly is Israelis and a long-held national stance that involves apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and now genocide in 4K.
He excuses it as no one should censorship artists without taking on board all the Palestinian artists that have been censored, murdered, deplatformed, and evicted by Israel. I was a long-time fan until I learned more about his enabling stance.
Typo, Autocabbage turned censor into censorship

He also doesn't take on board how his own stance props up the very regime he claims to be the sole cause for the brutalities inflicted on Palestinians. www.instagram.com/share/p/BAKz...
I *really* wanted to find an update from him, saying he was opposed to the genocide. But, nope. So we're not going. I used to adore him...But, these days it seems that the more he says, the less interesting he is. He once was political in a moving way. Now, he's just disappointing.
He's become so disappointing. I once saw him tell a Berlin audience how enabling and terrible Berliners had been towards him before he managed to kick drugs. Where did that man go?
I remember his anti-prison movie from the early 90s. He was interested in people then. It makes me sad. I love his music. I won't buy it or stream it ever again.
I have a theory that if he was still a ratbag junkie no one would care. He has raised our expectations by some of the many good things he has done. That is a paradox. But still disappointing. That Berlin story is more what I was expecting.
That's really disappointing. 😥😥 My husband was keen to go see him. But not now.
Nick Cave has said other... questionable things, such as not liking "wokeness" or whatever, and citing freedom of speech as a reason not to call out others' shitty behaviour. That kind of thing.
Oh no. I haven’t been keeping up with his interviews so I’ve missed all that.
He toes the line on a lot of stuff. Says a lot of libertarian adjacent stuff, imo. But it's easy to miss, for sure.
It’s difficult to keep up with where artists and writers stand on various issues.
That's the thing, eh. But I don't think it's viable to seperate art and artists - that's like the line "Sport and politics don'c mix" rolled out for the Springbok tour.
Fans need to call him out on the fact that his views haven't publicly evolved despite Israeli actions. His position appears fixed somewhat by ego (i.e. you don't have the right to censor me) so he needs to be encouraged to shift towards the greatest good which is to not stand with Israel anymore.
I knew about Radiohead and it’s incredibly disappointing. They’re my daughter’s favourite band and I can’t bring myself to tell her. She’d be gutted.
