Democrats have also drastically overperformed in almost every special election this year. The idea that Democrats are doing poorly and losing elections is an outright fabrication. Harris's loss was a fluke, not the norm.

The WH press corps is the absolute worst of the American political press. I think that in the political press overall the reporters are much more mixed in their opinions.
Ok, so how come they had no pushback back with the AP/Gulf of Mexico thing? I may be wrong but I don’t remember the press circling the wagons over this, like they do whenever one of their “stars” gets any degree of criticism. My recollection is the media as a whole just shrugged.
