Huge news for NY and Dems in general. Nadler is a major figure. It speaks well of his values that he’s retiring instead of running again. This is going to be a hot election. It’s good for democracy he’s announcing early enough for folks to really plan.

Yup. I’ve been asking that since Thursday or Friday. It’s such an obvious move by editors, to assign a reporter to track them down.
I think a lot of that is correct, but publications/networks/wires generally have only 1-2 people at the White House, but more general political reporters. But much of what I’m talking about would be driven by editors. (And I doubt many will rise to the moment, bc they have so infrequently)

One of the reasons I liked Twitter was that I knew a lot of political reporters & writers followed me & saw what I tweeted. That’s definitely not true here bc there are very few political reporters w accounts here, & many of those accounts are barely active.

Jerry Nadler has had immigrants’ backs his whole career. His office in Congress has been working hard on positive immigration legislation for decades. I’m sad to see him go but I can’t help but feel glad he is able to leave in good health and with time to enjoy retirement.
