IBT has always had race problems. They've had to spend significant sums over the years contractually defending (As they must) their own guys' discrimination.
Oh, I thought you were referring to Frank. Late 80’s a Teamsters local at the Detroit Newspapers was mostly Polish & Italian, mostly from 6-8 extended families. They were pressured to bring in more Black members, became about 20% black, mostly from 2-3 extended families
