The obvious way to expand our coalition is to pick up rural voters. The Vought/Miller/Musk policies are about to start decimating rural communities; in fact they already are. Life in rural areas is going to get very, very rough, & it will be the Repubs’ fault.
Add RFK Jr to that list, as rural hospitals start to close down.
Health care, public schools, energy prices…all of that will likely be worse in rural areas. Add in the pummeling of agriculture & there will be a lot of misery in rural America.
Can you say how voters in those areas are to be convinced that Dems will make it better? Seems like over the last x number of years the reactions have been either to double down on current voting patterns or to become/remain disaffected.
Unfortunately that requires a bunch of city-dwellers who are at least hypothetically on the left to stop fucking spouting off about “screw those red states/they voted for this/those voters are just getting what they deserve/we should have let them secede”
No need to fix it just tell their base why its happening Its called putting them on defense and its a novel approach for most dem leaders
