I feel slightly embarrassed about feeling sad that the Amiga and MS-DOS versions of Mortal Kombat aren't being included in the Legacy Kollection. I understand that there are likely technical and/or licensing reasons for this, particularly where the Amiga is concerned. Still, though. Sad sigh. 😔
I freaking hate Cloanto.
I think it is fine and good to want them in there while also having a realistic view on why they aren't. It's a testament to how far they've gone with the rest of it, really. Similar to how Tetris Forever couldn't include everything.
If I had my druthers the 3DO and DOS versions of Super Street Fighter II Turbo would also make it into one of these. At least the most notable part of the 3DO port, the arranged soundtrack, is buried in some re-release/collection or another, forget which specifically.
