I feel slightly embarrassed about feeling sad that the Amiga and MS-DOS versions of Mortal Kombat aren't being included in the Legacy Kollection. I understand that there are likely technical and/or licensing reasons for this, particularly where the Amiga is concerned. Still, though. Sad sigh. 😔

Ah, problem solved! When I uninstalled MKT previously I didn't uninstall the patch, so it thought it was already installed.
Decided to reinstall Mortal Kombat Trilogy on my PC, and with it the Kommunity Patch, but I get this error whenever I try to install the patch. After clicking OK the installer exits. Any suggestions?

I played the PC version of Resident Evil 2 before any other version. It has a ton of bonus content not seen in other versions of the game (as I was very disappointed to discover when I bought it for the GameCube). Plus there are various fan-projects for things like higher-res video.

I always think about the high five gag in Toy Story 4, because the board artist added that on a whim. And then it got animated, made the final cut, and it's one of my favorite moments in the entire movie.

It would make a lot of sense that they’d make an enemy out of the one publicly funded emergency service people like. They’ve already been quietly inching back toward privately funded firefighting services. This country is so for sale and the more you learn the more it’s obvious it’s built for it.
I know @digitaleclipse.bsky.social knows about them, because they're fastidious. If they're not being included, it's probably a project scope thing. But I dream about this stuff, y'know? This is history. I think the relative failure of Rare Replay killed a lot of interest in that kind of thing.
They're available to buy on GOG right now, but I'm worried they'll be delisted once MK Legacy Kollection drops. There's precedent. It's a concern (or koncern, if you like).
I'm still holding out hope - genuinely, hopefully - that @digitaleclipse.bsky.social Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection might still see some home computer ports included. I know the Amiga version is tricky due to licensing, but the DOS games are properly fascinating in their own right.
Maybe that's not as commercially viable, or worth the people power. Easier to emulate/port one NES game than to build/license emulators for a dozen home computer ports. But it rubs me the wrong way. That's a chunk of video game history that's just being ignored.
TMNT NES was ported to a ton of systems - PC MS-DOS, C64, ZX Spectrum... it was ported to the Amiga twice! Separately! By different teams for different markets! But none of those are the NES version, so they don't make the cut.
I'm going to harp on about home computer ports in retro game compilations avain. Remember the TMNT Cowabunga Collection? @digitaleclipse.bsky.social did an AMAZING job, but the biggest omission, IMO, is the almost-dozen-or-so home computer ports of the NES TMNT game.

My mum's favorite Penny Arcade strip was always the "You should put Batjew in a comic" one (which I can't find right now), and while I feel like there's a version of that which could have worked with more panels, three is perfect.

In the time between @jumpleads.zone seasons 1 and 2, Epidemic Sound has entirely changed their sound library and their search tool, and it's almost hilarious how much worse it is now. Just appallingly so. Wow.
Fun fact: Ran and I have shared a stage! I was a finalist at the Anime Expo Late Comedy Showcase in 2016, and Ran was the halftime show. A real joy. He's a phenomenal rapper and he's incredible live. I never get tired of seeing him perform. If you're going you're in for a treat.
