Yeah, I don't think these are mutually exclusive? But I think particularly the last year and a half it was very clear they'd lost any sense that they'd be dealing with the consequences of this. Sunak's tax cuts are the ideological choice, the fiddling to pay for them is the absence of care.

There was a lot of crossover between the two aye but I think slight difference in that Hunt was doing it because he still thinks he could use it to win the base over whereas Sunak knew he was done so didn’t care what happened after. Even if they’d managed to somehow cling on he was finished
