I'm not wholly convinced they've meaningfully broken down in society at large so much as for a small group of right-wing elites, who in turn influence a small group of right-wing nutters. Small shifts in enforcing these red lines at the BBC would, hopefully, do wonders.

I think it is part of her internal narrative of her *very impressive* career that everything has to reinforce her wider political views which is that the UK educational system is too soft, and so she was failed by it.
Kemi's personal narrative is that her Nigerian school pushed her hard, and the UK didn't, which is the real reason she only got 2 Bs and a D at A-Level, which would honestly be quite sad were she not trying to use it to justify a quite bonkers politics.
