reply to this and show me something great you made — art, food, whatever, I wanna see human beings making good things
Ok I am trying to keep up with replies, but also this is full of people telling each other how much they like their art or food etc and I am 😭❤️
You made a good thing happen... you're pretty great 🙂
Thank you everyone for sharing your creations! Keep ‘em coming!
Hell yeah!!
You created a space for all of us to love eachother and that's pretty cool!
My daughter and I made this peanut butter pie for my wife for Mother’s Day & I grilled the living hell out of these burgers for Father’s Day.
A vector drawing of San from the movie Princess Mononoke that I did way back in 2015 (upon digging it up, it didn't even have my logo on it!). It's one of the first vector drawings that I ever did for myself (after design school) where I began to really experiment with -how- I wanted to vector draw.
So old that I put up some process work on Behance way back when! www.behance.net/gallery/2573...
I've made a deck of cards which I can use to make other things: stories and storytelling games.
Intriguing!
Thanks. I had fun making them.
I crocheted a turkey vulture for myself because they are my favorite birds.
Ahhhhh! It’s so darling! Turkey vultures are the best.
Thank you!
This is so good. I miss seeing turkey vultures. I have a coworker who crocheted herself a Remy and I love the days she decides to wear Remy to work.
Thanks! What a fun project she picked.
Aw~ they don’t get enough love. What a cute way to respect them 😀
I agree! They are great.
I just made this quickie journal for a solo RPG I'm about to start playing. It's just 20 sheets of copier paper, some papercraft cardstock, stickers from Dollar Tree and a random piece of ribbon I found on my office floor. What did it come from? Who knows? I don't
I smoked a brisket a while back. It was very good and fed many people for a week
I can’t take all the credit, but I made a garden that grows these beauties.
So cool! Your colors are stunning!!
thanks very much!
You're welcome!!
I love that Enterprise!!

Photo out by my house. Just a snap after dinner on a walk, but it reminds me of those big sweeping oil paintings of clouds out West.
I made this yard - except the patio, I paid for someone to do that. But I cut all the sod and did all the planting/other hardscaping. (Before/after)
Holy crap!!! This is amazing
Thank you! It’s taken me 6 years but it’s starting to really grow in. Bonus: deck before/after. I am a maximalist at heart!
When I live in a space, I want to LIVE in that space. And now I have 1/10 of an acre filled with birds and bees and all kinds of nifty things ❤️
This is honestly warming my heart!!
I found out that the lady who lived here initially had roses out front and was very proud of them (decades ago)…and I’m in the process of replacing them now. It’s slow going, but worth the trouble. Next year’s coming anyway, for good or ill; might as well have roses.
I love the little planting station!
Do you write out on the patio sometimes? Seems quite peaceful.
That deck is spectacular
What a beautiful space you've created!
Oh, that looks like a magical space 🤩.
That is awesome!!
That color is sumptuous. Meltiiiing.
Thank you!
OMG GORGEOUS!!!!
This is beautiful.
Restored this old camera and lens, 3d-printed a bunch of new parts, and took this photo of my husband with a lens made in 1850.
That's amazing 🤩
I love that you get that very signature old photo look, but it’s not a filter applied in post. The juxtaposition of a person in modern times and that photo treatment is super cool.

Correct!
Wonderful, thank you. 📌
That looks so cozy.
It’s like tornasol!! (I’m not sure how to say that in English)
That is beautiful!
Love this!
The best thing I ever knit: my shawl for my first wedding. I did a nude photo shoot with it to reclaim it after the divorce. It's a phoenix in flight. It meant something then, it means something different now, it will mean something else when it needs to. Rebirth. 🔥🔥
Lovely! Which tutorial?

I hand-painted these sugar cookies for a Fall event. First time doing cookie decorating since childhood. Cute and delicious!

Ooooh these are great!
Thanks! I’m thinking I need to do a Summerween batch. Lean into the trend.

Thank you! It was fancier than the kinds of thing I usually make, but worth it. ☺️
You are welcome! It looks soooo rasty!
I wanna eat that omg
Pop round and a slice is yours. (I realise it might be a bit of a trek but you know if you happen to be passing you are welcome.) ☺️

Thank you so much! 😊
Do you need help eating the tart?
This looks delicious!
It looks delectable.
I embroidered this by hand! Someday I'll do it again, and incorporate all the techniques I've learned since the original. (I'd show the project I'm working on right now, but it sort of looks like a vulva atm.)
I didn't make it, but I just became a dog foster parent for the first time 👍
I made Patatas a la Importancia last night. So tasty and filling.
!!!!!!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of these but it looks delicious!
They take a little while to make but it's a very simple recipe and 100% worth the time, I got my version from Spain on a Fork.
It’s a dramatic improvement over the time I made the same style of cake exactly ten years earlier.
Oh my goodness, the way I cackled! Thank you for sharing your progress!!
For the record, the messy cake was delicious.
Omg I love this tho — the growth!!!
I’ll do another in ten years and see how much more I’ve learned.

Thank you!
Reminds of my first taste ever of strawberry rhubarb pie, from a stand at the Tractor and Steam Engine Show in my mom’s hometown. (It’s like a fair, but for tractors. Horse teams too.)
What a neat memory! Did you like the pie?
Oh yes! It was a novelty, but wonderful.

This post is fantastic. Random food pic, this gumbo I made tasted pretty great - recipe was golden. Think it was the first time I tried a proper dark roux as well. SO worth the time and care.
That dark roux is so time consuming and so worth it
It really is! It was a bit intimidating at first but I was armed with a great recipe, good sequential pics, and a video.
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Ok dang!! (Beautiful on all three counts)
Wow, that mural is fantastic! (And the painting and kids too lol)
😋 ty! It’s what I did during Covid while I still had to be in my classroom
Love these!!

The green antenna guy!
i know i post about it ad nauseum but hello sunshine is the best thing i've ever made
Keep posting about it! I can’t wait to read it!
I made this at a fused glass workshop a few years ago. All my design & materials choices. It was inspired by the HANNIBAL TV series.
I posted this earlier today. I did a while back, but I still like it. I would do a whole series like this.
🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha love this
I wish Marvel would let me do a series of backup strips like this

I want to go to there.
Still in the works, but almost finished quilt for a new cousin baby
Stunning!
Thank you 😊
I did not make the cat. I did, however, knit the baby blanket she is laying on. Alley Cat seal of approval.
I think I made one with that same pattern. Nice.
It's super simple, I've made several of them and love how they come out. My only issue is that it can be SO BORING. Good TV knitting, tbh.
you said food so here's a nice stack of brazilians pastels stuffed with cheese

Wow! Terrific rendering of shadow and form.
I really like this lil drawing I did of a Rottweiler that lives in Toronto and has an obsession with the Moon.
Omg 😍

I made this tunic for a dear friend, someone in my guild at LARP. My LARP guild gave me a place to belong in a hobby in which I had largely felt discarded, so I am always so grateful. Concept sketch vs finished garment. 100% human-conceived, human-wrought.
I'm doing medieval inspired crafts like plant dyeing yarn, naalbinding and tablet weaving.
I'm hoping it will be great, but today's my first time making it: garlic scape salt.
I need to know more please!
The directions I'm following: 1/2 cup coarse salt, 12 garlic scapes (I had lots so my pic is x3). Dry in a 200 degree oven for an hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
This looks great and i might have to give it a shot, my garlic will not stop making scapes this year!
I like the sound of this, thanks!!
I hope it works out for both of us!
Me too!!
Since y'all went on this journey with me, I wanted to give an update with the results. Three out of three people in my house like it on a piece of buttered bread. At first, you only taste salt, but then the garlic really comes in. I'll definitely make it again, but maybe decrease the salt some.
That sounds really good!
Ooh good luck!! (Looking good so far!)
For the Lego and Marvel crossover folks here on sky, I made my own Witches’ Road
I made a new book! It's out in March, and I'm really proud of it :)

i designed and my friends @printinkling.bsky.social printed a bunch of these tea towels and we didn’t know if they would work but we took a chance and they DID and we used our human brains and hands the whole way through and i just aaaaahhhhhhhhgghhggdbdjgjdhdbx yknow??
So much human energy went into these prints! Lots of decisions Hand-drawn art Old school screen printing - ink, squeegees, and shoulders - carefully maintaining two gradients Every ink color weighted and blended by hand. These collabs are such a wonderful blend of artistry, skills, and love.

Embroidery. Good for mindfulness, combatting anxiety, and plus it’s fun.
These are amazing!!
Thank you. That’s nice to hear!
You are welcome!
Your embroidery back during lockdown was what inspired me to take up cross stitch when I was spiraling with anxiety. Thank you for helping to keep me sane ever since.
I’m so happy to hear that! It’s been a big help to me, happy to pass it along!
Omg yes, these are so great and are gonna get back to my cross stitch.
"Your embroidery is good and you should feel good."
Omg. Thank you. This paraphrasing of a futurama allusion is genuinely treasured!!
omg those Gravity Falls and We Bare Bears ones are UNREAL 😍
These are outstanding. I love them all.
Thank you! It’s a cheap hobby. And pretty easy to pick up.
Do you mind telling me more? I picked up a little "learn to cross-stitch" kit which I'm enjoying but am also taking forever at. But I also feel kind of enchanted by the mix of humor and design and "oh, I recognize that, how cool!" you've got here.
Sure! Cross stitch is a bit different. There’s less counting here. I make my own patterns by tracing images I like. Then trace them onto fabric with a makeshift light box. Either paper on a window or an iPad.
The light blue marker in pic 3 is water soluble. So it’s a good guide that you can rinse away with a bit of water when you’re done. Then I use small stitches to create the shapes. There’s lots of videos online that can teach stitches better than reading them imho.
This Parasite one was an early experiment. So I documented the process. Since then, I fiddled with color and other stitches and just played around. Hope that helps! Oh. I also tend toward used fabrics. Like dress shirts or canvas bags that weren’t being used.
In my experience, all you need to get started is thread, needle, fabric, and a simple wooden hoop to keep the fabric taut. Things like backing, special markers, water soluble pattern material, use only if they make sense to you. I’ve definitely bought stuff I didn’t end up using.
I’ve done a bunch of those package kits too. These just amuse me more.
Thank you for explaining. I paint so I've got canvas scraps that I've struggled to find uses for and I may be able to make the weave work. I bet I've got other material too. Last question, and then I won't ask more of your time and generosity. Is there a YouTube channel you'd recommend first?
Reinventing a super old craft! I love it! The cartoon ones are so dang good!

I made this last year. My 1st full-on fantasy novel. About a mother and daughter with various abilities traveling the world. @jmichaelhayes.bsky.social made the exquisite cover which I love to the heights because it captures the mood & textures of the story. A good, human book full of love.
I’m knitting a blanket! The pattern is called Koti. I said to my mother “this will get me through the next few years.” I am over halfway done three months later. Stress knitting rocks.
Beautiful. I’ve finished four shawls in the last 6 months. Fingering weight yarn. So much stress #knitting.
oh but look at your stitches! they are so pretty and even! Fingering weight yarn too, dang! That is some epic knitting.
Thank you. There was a touch of silk in this, which made it a dream to knit.

I turned this bike from a forgotten, abandoned wreck I bought with no title or keys for $300 dollars into a running, riding, modernized machine. I sold it to a young woman as her first motorcycle. It's still on the road today.
I made these to announce I was having a baby. They’re not perfect, but I love them
They’re so cuteeeeee!

Oh that is fab! And it totally needs a little crocheted buddy TV!

Loving everything you've shown. The little buddies are especially delightful!
Thank you! These were such a delight to create! Someone was looking for unique Halloween decorations and wanted to commission a local artist. I had these guys in my sketchbook since April if that year. I jumped at the chance. Here’s the other figure that was commissioned.

Thanks! I love them. The only tricky part is hand pollinating as much as possible to avoid crossbreeding, which they do at the drop of a hat.
Ohhh, that's a great tip! I hand pollinate mine, but they haven't been having much luck. I think the heat where I am is doing them in.
Yeah, they need a little bit of shade if it's hot, & lots of water. Cal-mag makes em happy too.
Ooo, good to know, thank you for the tips!!
Today's bread. First time trying my hand at a "wet dough" no-knead loaf.
I made this smoked salmon chowder from my galpal’s dad fresh smoked salmon I also baked a baguette but my buddy insisted on adding soda crackers to the mix.
My garden...it gives me joy or at least counteracts the neverending dread
This is a real "stopping doomscrolling to look at the flowers," garden.

That's my goal! Thank you

I have almost mastered this kind of crust.

I made pasta salad earlier this week that's got beets in it, so it turned pink & I've been singing "Pink Pasta Club" to the tune of "Pink Pony Club" for a few days.
