I have acquired 3 pen pals via a special interest group I'm involved in. The problem is that I cannot for the LIFE of me find decent stationery. Every search for Irish supplies of nice letter papers and envelopes ends at an office supply place that I don't even think is in Ireland. HELP. #spiergorm

Not Irish, but @presentcorrect.bsky.social is absolutely the gold standard — www.presentandcorrect.com

This looks lovely. They're sold out of the thing I'm looking for. I think my head is caving in.

Less fancy, but you could have a poke around ecoland.com - who have a little store on the North Circular Road

At first, I thought my struggle was the too-common "divided by a common language" thing. I've tried every variation I can think of: stationery, paper, letter, note, correspondence. I want a shop that carries pretty matched sets for long letters to friends.

I miss the old shops you could walk into, with towers of coloured papers and matching envelopes, banks of stickers, huge displays of pens and even inks if you were into fountain pens. Might end up opening my own, I'm so annoyed.

And I think I misspelt #speirgorm, which is just about right.

Reminded me of Smythson, but not as ridiculous!

It's a lovely little shop. I've done a couple of paper marbling courses there and really enjoyed them.

I sent myself down a rabbit hole there. Check out SomedaySomeplace on Etsy for more cute Japanese letter paper.

You might have to look online but Midori from Japan makes very pretty letter paper sets. They are often small format (A6) though, a few are A5. I have never seen an A4 size set from them.
