Probably just way to make the deal look more palatable. It has zero impact on PSR bc it’s an option not an obligation so until they exercise it (which they won’t) it can’t be banked in the books.

I think this could be a good spot for him, though. I still love the player, despite it not working out for him at Arsenal. That Fulham game, his bullets against Barça and Brentford, those brilliant passes to Jesus and Martinelli. There’s a player there, but the run of games just never happened.
