There is more of an argument here than many of my leftist friends think, but it doesn't involve purging language, but in fact speaking inclusively and picking one's language for their audience, and *educating* on what these terms mean. Why they are important.
The idea of purging the language is because Dems are afraid of Fox News getting a clip of them saying "incarcerated people". Motherfucker, if you do everything "perfectly" they'll still find an angle. They aren't actually covering you from a news perspective.
If you're addressing a bunch of blue collar workers it's okay to change your language to represent that. If you're addressing a bunch of social academics it's okay to change your language to be appropriate there too.
