The boat is such a mixed experience for me. I find myself really struggling to follow along, and sometimes even consider dropping it, but then Togashi throws in something great and I'm all like "arghhhgod dammit all right I'll keep reading!"

The longest and shortest of it possible: Togashi wanted to make it clear he knows how King Crimson works, and much like with Perfect Cell wants to see how he'd do it. Among other things but that's like, the main deal.
