do any games do potions that require a certain volume be consumed for other effects? like the above life potion; the player would only consume a volume of it dependent on how much damage there was to heal. so it would only be after a certain dose you'd get the added max health buff.
thinking of the so called "heroic dose" of mushrooms or certain foods that could be lethal if you consume more than your body can tolerate (see also: alcohol)
oh that's an interesting idea. that happens in real life a lot! like at one dose something is a blood thinner, and at another it's a mood regulator. so sometimes you'd want to stockpile a potion + use two or three at once instead of getting an immediate benefit..
i like this, it would make my potion hording feel like a game mechanic(even if i still end up saving the potions until its too late :P)
i wonder how you could shape discovery- maybe potion types have known 'hero's dose' uses, so once you figure out a type it's known?
yeah and maybe a short prompt to indicate a body's tolerance, trying to hit just under an OD like some kind of fiending addict lol... disco elysium probably has some good text for that
