if you break it down into steps you really can explain it in primary school language. light sensitive tissue, slight dimple, pinhole eye, then if you wanna get fancy a lens etc.

sorry for derailing your post! when I got out and learned how evolution actually works I was so mad, like you say it's actually v comprehensible. lot of resentment about knowledge denied my younger self 😅 anyway! evolution is wild and so interesting, and that is a WEIRD looking beastie I love him
