Not necessarily, but when I was attempting to book an appointment at Walgreens this morning, I got the following pop-up before completing the process. Needless to say, I’ve already messaged my doctor’s office to see what they can do. I’m in Missouri, so I don’t have much hope.
It’s going to be interesting to learn what doctors are willing to do, can do. And I’m going to presume that the pharmaceutical companies aren’t going to produce as much of the vaccine, given that the qualifying population will be drastically smaller.
Interesting & scary. If this super restrictive rollout stands & doctors can’t fight it, there will be negative impacts for the economy as well, because if we’re not vaxxed, we’re not going to be spending money in indoor spaces during the height of cold, flu & Covid season. I’m sure we’re not alone.
It’s very scary. I’m in NYC and the thought of rampant Covid again is quite disturbing. Everything this regime does is designed to make us feel helpless and hopeless. We need more people in the streets now.
I’m sure that’s extremely scary, thinking back to 2020. I am lucky enough to have a 100% WFH role, but that doesn’t matter since my husband teaches 200+ middle school students every day. If teachers, frontline workers & their families aren’t eligible, we will have another huge wave on our hands.
Even if you pay out of pocket,no insurance involved?Canada and Mexico are also options.Also, if you need dental work or other vaccines, a trip to Thailand wouldnt cost much more even factoring in the travel costs since vaccines & dental work are so much cheaper there. Covid-19 vaccine is around $50.
Right, but I’m thinking about people who are paid as caregivers. They can’t afford to take trips or often take the time off.
The other issue with traveling far to get a vaccine besides time away from home and work is the possibility of catching Covid while traveling, since it’s surging right now. That would defeat the whole purpose of traveling there in the first place.
Agreed! Everyone who can should do whatever they can to get a vaccine. But that’s not enough. We have to get this stupid decision overturned. If we settle for less than that, we’re going to see a lot of seriously ill and dead people this winter.
Yep - for sure. I fear for our country for so many reasons now. The added anxiety that this clusterf*** of an administration is causing so many of this can’t be good for anyone’s overall health, either.
Lest we forget, here’s the outdoor tent “hospital” set up in Central Park April 2020 because there was no room left in hospitals. And a month later, here’s the cadaver truck parked outside the hospital a few blocks from where I live because there was no room left in the morgues for the dead.
Too many people have forgotten how horrible that time was, or they’re just purposely cruel.
I got that message as I was trying to complete scheduling my updated Covid vax, before it even got to the part where you enter insurance details. We live in MO, so it’s pretty far from Mexico or Canada and travel isn’t cheap. It looks like IL might not have the same restriction on the vax, though.
It seems to depend on which state you’re in, or at least that’s what I’m seeing today. We may have options if we move fast.
I’m not worried about myself. I qualify for a vaccine. I am worried about everyone whose survival may depend on being surrounded by a vaccinated population. I really hope many people are able to find ways to get vaccinated. 🤞
Exactly. I worry about everyone who works in public-facing roles, including teachers. People in those types of roles and their families should automatically qualify, regardless of age or underlying health issues (my husband is a teacher).
