Indeed. Texas is becoming a leader in wind power, despite their right wing politics and oil company money. That's good. But it's far too late. We could stop adding CO2 to the atmosphere today, and we will still be facing radical climate change and forced mass migrations. Buckle up.
Exactly. We will likely overshoot 1.5 degrees and that is a disaster that oil companies must be made liable for. BUT electrification has gone exponential, and I'm very hopeful we can stay below a cataclysmic 3 degrees. Which will still mean a lot of climate damage sadly, but humanity will survive.
Exactly. Texas and middle east petrostates are good examples of why this is unstoppable. I am not too concerned about the mass migrations (yet), I think catastrophe damage and lack of insurance will be hitting people much sooner (already is). From California to Florida, Spain to Tunisia...
Right. I'm currently shopping for homeowners insurance in California, and it's a bear.
