True. For all the foibles of the Russian military industrial complex, it can produce its own engines. The Israelis can't. (This is an underrated sanctions venue IMO)

Russia also has 10x the population to throw into a useless war of conquest and territory to fall back on. Also, going off both of your points, Russia can close itself off and survive bc it can produce all the civ goods it needs... Israel can't

By civilian goods you mean..? Cause spoiler alert, no they can’t, not if they want to avoid being North Korea. Russia relies heavily on imports for things like medicine, chemicals and machine parts for agriculture, electronics etc. They have very little indigenous advanced industries or production.
