This guy is a "political strategist and commentator" - he's a talking head, not someone in any kind of power. I don't think giving him air is going to help anyone, to be honest. He is calling to lock up trans people, but who the hell is he? He's just some guy.
Is he the guy that drank his own piss? It's so hard to keep these Joe-holes straight.
Please do not underestimate how much influence these talking heads have on the president, though. Laura Loomer threw a fit about Palestinian children being allowed entry to the US for medical help, and now Palestinians are barred from entering the US entirely.
You must have missed the question at the white house about whether or not trans people are domestic terrorists. The answer was "let me get back to you on that." It's not one guy.
I still want to know who asked that question, and haven't been able to get an answer. Do you know, by chance? I think there are shit disturbers, and I agree there's more than one of them. I just think we have to be careful who we promote and listen to.
We give people's words credibility when we repeat them. But also, I am also trans, and I don't think living in constant terror is productive. I also don't think waiting for horrible things to become real is productive, to be clear. I think there's a line through the middle and it's hard to find.
It's been hard for *me* to find, anyway. I try to look to the source, when people say stuff like this, and to me this guy is a nobody. I've never heard of him. He has no power and no sway. That's why I want to know who asked the question at the presser - they're the instigator there.
Anyway my point is not to tell anyone to not be afraid, because there are VERY REAL reasons to be afraid. But *I* can't live my life in fear of what every political analyst says. The question at the presser & the response are much more frightening, so we agree on that.
(sorry this was kinda long, I apparently have a lot of feelings I'm working through about this topic, and I didn't mean to disparage or minimize anyone else's feelings or fears)
