I will donate $100 to the political campaign of the councilmember’s choice to the first Nashville councilmember who can get precast concrete (parking bumpers, jersey barriers, etc) installed to protect >1/4 mile of bike lanes in their district. (Applies to NDOT or TDOT installation, no greenways)
I would knock on so many doors for the person that gets just parking bumpers on one of the western corridors. 70, 100, Charlotte, take your pick.

I’ve drawn up some concept plans for Hart already - there is SO. MUCH. PAVEMENT. Legitimate curbed medians and islands could add a ton of green space and tree canopy if done well!
Moxie imagine how inexpensive it would be to re-stripe Woodland between 5th and 10th and drop a couple dozen of these between the cars drivers and the bicycle riders. We might save the city millions of dollars they planned to spend on engineering and design and installation for bespoke bioswales!
But the historic homeowners?? Won’t someone please think of the historic homeowners?? For real though, Woodland would be so much better. Every time someone gets mad at me for taking the lane, I’m like “oh, so you agree? We should have safe separated mobility infrastructure?”
