WW2 WW1 Taiping Revolt US Civil War Napoleonic War… …. did not end in any meaningful, compromise, negotiated peace. The peace treaty was delivered to the vanquished at the tip of a bayonet.

I'm assuming by "they" you mean the leaders of a broken "education" system where kids don't know who fought in the Revolutionary War or the Civil war. The concentration today is on gender and pronouns. That's changing as I type.

Ideally wars get settled when invaders lay down their arms & return to their own territory. Putin could end the war today.

Maybe he’s thinking of the War of 1812 in which both sides agreed to return to pre-war borders. In which case, ok.

Silly me. I thot Canada won the War of 1812 (1812-15) but Canada didn't exist yet. It was the British who burned the Capitol during War of 1812 in retaliation for Americans burning the Canadian capitol at York (Toronto) on April 27, 1813. Canada rebuilt capitol in Ottawa (Bytown)

I would argue that the war of 1812's outcome was to ensure that Upper Canada remained British and prevented northern expansion by the war hawks in Congress.

Wrong. Don't they teach modern history in the US? There was no negotiation after WW2. Germany was completely defeated by the allies as was Japan after the US dropped the bombs. They both unilaterally surrendered. The only negotiation was when the allies carved up Germany.

I'm not sure about that. I get the sense he's fully on board with Tucker Carlson's opinion (read: nonsense) that Darryl "Churchill was the villain of WW2" Cooper is the "greatest historian alive." The recent WW2 revisionism en vogue is based on a fundamental ignorance.
