With my washing machine down I just went to the laundromat after years of not having to go there. Newer very large machines meant less time to get it all done but it wasn't cheap. In North India, foreigners soak laundry in a bucket w soap until it's time to hand wash everything. #runningWater
I am considering washing clothes by hand daily. I spent over twenty bucks yesterday at the laundromat.
P.S. Drying the clothes is a problem in the Winter though. When living at the foot of the Himalayas I borrowed a bucket heating coil to bathe once a week- my hair would freeze solid walking back to my room. HH the Dalai Lama's oracle would go into trance nextdoor- terrifying nightime sounds.
The oracle would go into moaning, groaning and screaming before "they" all rushed to the tiny monastery at dawn- right next to my dorm room. The whole crew always rushed over to hear his predictions. They would put him in an ancient outfit and assist as he spoke extinct languages. Scary as frik'.
