Collection of small polar stereographic maps showing the average June Arctic sea-ice thickness for each year from 1979 to 2025. There is large spatial variability, but a long-term decreasing trend. The thickness of ice ranges from 0 meters to more than 5 meters.

I think that the Welsh summer is as warm as it is, and has been at least last year, are signs that the tipping point has been reached.

Many different components of the earth system are known or strongly suspected to have tipping points.

Likely true, I hope we can avoid reaching them. A lot on the right wing seem unconcerned, unconcerned with the future (including their own future, as think tanks mostly have fairly young people).
