Antarctica, is an artifact when rendering a global mean temp. The SH tends to be cooler because most of the land mass in in the NH.
Ocean areas in particular:
Okay, that's what I thought. I'm not sure it's good news or bad if the land mass is 'already at 1.5°+'. It certainly seems to be. But the oceans still offer a bit of relief. Thanks!
This graph is Fall averages so it's only a window into a small part of the planet's year. But, I suspect the main offset is probably the oceans.
I've seen quite a few graphs and data, and I can't help but think we're WAY over any threshold of 1.5° It's nice that the middle of the Pacific isn't 115° today, but we don't live or farm there, just saying. And if that's what we're waiting for, well...

It's by county so all of el paso county.... And about half our District. Based on a few conversations, people know the climate has changed. But, climate is no longer a PC topic in a lot of the US, even places where the change is so clear
This really helps explain why fire season is now much longer even in northern states like Idaho and Montana.
Not enough for dumb Trumpists.
