I haven’t seen anything to warrant such an outsize response. The worst crime I saw was folks jaywalking and cyclists doing the Idaho stop. Lots of goobers in tactical vests playing Candy Crush.

I am not sure we even saw that much. When we were near the Smithsonian, it was just a lot of people walking and avoiding the heat. We took a lot of cabs until I realized how easy public transit was from the hotel to the city.
