I had about 10 minutes of high blood pressure excitement that I did not want today. My cable felt weird during church and it turned out it was hanging by a thread. It eventually broke off and started dropping stitches from my sweater. Thankfully all fixed now.

I love when I test something and it runs without errors. It is the best feeling. After lunch I get to do a final review and then push it to production.

Last night the kid and I got back from DC. While we were there, we: - took a taxi to the museum of natural history and back -took the blue, red, silver and red lines. -took a bus both the right direction and the wrong direction (Suitland was not our intended destination)

I am trying to teach my kid that even if you think someone is doing something (minor) wrong that it isn't his job to police everybody. My exceptions are for endangering themselves or others. I cared about property more until I realized how much harm was done in the name of property.
I am not sure we even saw that much. When we were near the Smithsonian, it was just a lot of people walking and avoiding the heat. We took a lot of cabs until I realized how easy public transit was from the hotel to the city.
I didn't see anything problematic today, but I was on the edges (and the airport).
I'm glad that my cat mostly sniffs my head and then moves to supervise.

I am this person. I normally plan out the menu as soon as I figure out how many people I might have. And I do pretty small thanksgivings all told.
I knit a fingering weight skirt with a 600+ stitch cast on and twisted it when joining in the round. I noticed an inch or two of knitting later. After ripping it out, I decided that a side vent or a tiny seam was preferable to twisting it again.
Ours is supposed to be going down, but it is 70 right now so I'm still in a wait and see. I'm hoping, because knitting is more pleasant when it isn't 80+.
Heck, I've only been on here since earlier this year and have more than twice that. I feel like you need a minimum volume of posts to hope new people notice you and start following.

We went on vacation and our kitty spent the few days at a kitty kennel. I used part of that time to wash, block and weave in ends on the blanket for my kid.
I may be dealing with knee injuries, but I walked yesterday to a coffee shop and back, swam and played in a lake and walked in a cool cave. I got a blister on my toe, but my knee seemed to hold up. Now I'm sitting in my charging car waiting for it to get light enough to read my book or knit.
I think I'm just having thoughts, because I'm knitting a sweater with some random bulky yarn in my stash. It is so hard when I normally think of 3.5 mm as big!

That's true. Some kids have some kind of mini motorcycle and they nearly run over other people each time they go out.
My only problem with kids around here on bikes is that they don't notice my electric car, so it takes longer to get past. It is fine.
I mostly prefer top down. I always need to start a toe up sock in a quiet space with the instructions, because I haven't done enough of them to become comfortable.
I have a long weekend coming up. My wish for this weekend is peace. No meltdowns, a good cup of coffee, and low pain days.

We are doing a yarn swap at the crafting group. I feel weird, because I have sweater lots. I want to use them, but I probably won't find time until I'm retired. And I bought some in MA, so it is extra hard to give them up.
I got to the giant patterned row in the crochet shawl I'm working on. It is multiple hours for a single row, so of course I'm goofing off over lunch rather than working on it.
When I worked and Boston and lived in Quincy, I once biked through the JFK/UMass rotary during rush hour. Your decision is solid.
I did squats on a bosu ball for PT. I shook like a leaf and wobbled like I was taking my first step. I now feel like sentient goo. But my knee doesn't hurt, so it is working (though I'm still not doing anything more than walking).

I'm working on a crochet shawl that is a mixture of regular and Tunisian crochet rows. I did a single Tunisian row over lunch and it took 45 minutes. My rows keep getting bigger. It doesn't matter that the pattern is just 35 rows. The final rows are going to take hours.
My kid likes to say, "Oh, my back!" He is 11... but I am 50. He probably is getting it from me.

I miss swimming. Part of me can't believe that I chose fun hair over the pool, but given my shoulders now I wouldn't have the best pool time.
