I don't know what the weather is like where you're at, but here on the great plains, those calm mornings are so few and far between.

Same here, the bay is on the east side of a peninsula partially dividing Lake Huron and is known for severe weather. Many shipwrecks in the area and the snow can be so heavy that all roads in the area can be closed for days at a time.
