I know this is only the latest betrayal of LGBTQ+ people, after a very long list of betrayals. But surely nobody can consider Labour a party of equality and human rights after this.

They are so completely entwined in the key corridors of power in this country it is so disheartening. It's so top-down and insidious. I do not see this level of hatred or this agenda in day-to-day life.

Labour have always been authoritarian. Sometimes this trait issued for things of which liberals, greens and progressives approve. Usually it's panic, arrogance and conformism, thinking that feeding the wolf will make it leave. It's not a left-right thing, it's control vs liberty. #tabloidlabour 🥀
