my omnibus edition makes the point even more strongly IMO

The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolf Against the backdrop of a pale blue sun, clouds, and a ground that is orange for some reason, a man in a black cloak that ais open and showing his bare chest (just a bit, he's mostly standing sideways) holds a big sword and stares at the viewer from behind a black mask, which shows one ear and some kind of geeky hair

I have some skepticisms about TBotNS really, though it definitely has a lot of high points especially the first and the fourth books. but I am not totally convinced by all the explanations people give me of why it makes sense (Peace is def. amazing)
