I'm all for that. In fact, I laid out a workable plan for Scotland to gain independence without England's permission 3/4 weeks ago on my feed. The reason people haven't been up for this until now (as from conversations I've had online and in person, I believe people are at the stage of wanting...
... our government to unilaterally declare independence) is that Scots believe in the rule of law. We believed that Westminster would play fair & honour agreements. Clearly, this hasn't happened. However, the rise of far-right politics in Westminster. The blatant racism, xenophobia...
... homophobia & transphobia coming from the 3 main parties who want to remove us from the ECHR so they can violate our rights has made the majority want independence & more of us happy to just tell England we're independent rather than asking.
Yet still half of Scotland wants to remain British subjects! God Save The Queen! 👸🏻 LOL Camilla! What a fucking joke the Royal Gamily is and ANYONE who wants to live under their bloody rule.
Where are you from?
Hampshire, New Hampshire.
😂 yeah. You get zero say in Scotlands future & given where you're from I'm gonna guess Tory/Reform voter. Your figures are also wrong. Recent poles indicate that 59% of Scots want independence. A number that grows when farage is mentioned. Plus, amongst 16-35 Yr olds, 70+ % want independence.
I don't want any say in Scotland's future. I'm a liberal Kennedy Democrat. I just think it's odd that about half( during the last election) chose to stay. Different poles I guess but the fact is, you need daddy's permission to even hold another vote. And your party agreed! British forever I guess.
And just to be clear. I think Scotland, Ireland and Wales should be their own countries, totally independent of English rule.
Ireland has been an independent sovereign state for about a hundred years.
Quite notable that England doesn’t want to be really independent and would continually thwart Scotland’s right to self determination. Ever wonder why?
