In "Conspiracy", Kenneth Branagh's General Heydrich, with all his thin lipped smiles, implied ability to do massive violence, blond hair, and shoulder ornaments looks an awful lot like Antony Starr's Homelander (The Boys). It is super-creepy, but very fitting.

They are also both thoroughly corrupted by their craving for and access to power.

Homelander is a lift from many precedents, vigilantism shares some methods with early fascism, seemingly magical powers of the Leader are among the features of the NatSoc fascist model, but he's always meant to be Superman through a 3rd Reich lens. I'm finishing part 1, and decided to watch "Conspiracy" per @iwriteok.bsky.social 's recommendation. Great movie. Although I probably wouldn't feel that way except it seems so unfortunately relevant to the current moment.
