It can’t get any worse than it is now. And it is clearly documented that the Chair of Ofcom, the Chair of the BBC, the Chair of EHCR etc are not just Tory appointees but Tory cronies who are not impartial. We need them removed and a truly independent process put in place for their replacements.

Not if there's a full blown daily attack on the media by everyone in the government. Make that the story, turn every interview into an attack on the media - bring receipts, and don't let up. That's what the MSM has done re the small boat crisis - they manufacture public consent.

They should certainly stand up for themselves robustly but your strategy only works if voters get that salience. Trump’s worked because he tapped into simmering resentment. Very difficult for centre/left/progressives to successfully use populism.
We need to stop worrying about social media it’s ephemeral and those manipulating it will just use another issue. Better to move the ground to more technically complex areas like press regulation that they’ll find it harder to get traction over than the current base of Human rights or immigration
Time to realise the way of fighting this stuff is to create other ‘battlefields’ that don’t really matter if won or lost….announce a load or super ‘woke’ policies about nothing for them to get all frothing about and then don’t even bother to implement them etc etc
Used to agree with this and it’s not the most accurate of barometers. But almost everyone uses SM now and will find it hard not to be swayed, particularly when it is reinforced by the media who now take their cues from it.
The current strategy will hand the keys of No10 to a Tory/Reform coalition in 3yrs time. Time is running out fast. Next year’s locals and elections in the developed admin are going to be a bloodbath at this rate - I predict we will lose 2/3 of our seats. The Gov needs to wake up to the threat.

Sky News does some good journalism. But it is soooo soft on Farage and has a tendency to make dramas out of small issues or even rumours/heresay. And the journalist / talking heads banter often resonates more with viewers, but is often opinion devoid of facts or full context.
Isn't the 'speed up' really 3 years? At the present rate of knots any closer ties across the seas to the EU will be too late if the risk of Farage as PM makes any improvements for Brits anathema to the EU. So much talk last May of changes - young people to/from the EU, Touring Artists, Erasmus etc.
