Agreed, Biden did do a lot. But why was he the first one to do that? It's not like climate change is new.

Reading a history of climate change policy would be a good idea. I’ve seen recommended “The New Climate War: The Fight to Take Back Our Planet" by Michael E. Mann.
I read it a couple months ago. My perspective is that if the democrats really cared, they had many chances to do something in the last 50 yrs -long before Biden was POTUS. They're the only decent political party we have. but I won't give them a pass for having utterly failed in very important things
FWIW - I asked Claude why democrats hadn’t passed meaningful climate legislation. Here’s the answer:
I don’t think climate change was actually really perceived by the general public until very recently. While Al Gore tried to get there with Inconvenient Truth - he was a poor messenger. Then 8 years of Bush II - mortgage crisis - GOP majorities in Congress. Ask yourself when legislation could pass
Agreed. Obama only had Democratic Congressional majorities in his first term - and that was hobbled by the 2009 financial meltdown. The rest of the time was a battle. Biden pulled off Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law while also dealing with Covid and related inflation …
… I hope you’re not asking about Trump or Bush II If you look at Obama’s first term - he needed a Democrat supermajority for Obamacare to pass - and only had 60 senate votes for 2 months - between the delayed swearing in of Al Franken and Kennedy’s brain cancer. It’s hard to do things
