Tomorrow is the second of the next round of court dates for the Frederick Four. While we support them today, they want to remind everyone of why we’re here.

Police attacked and arrested four people, denying them medical care for their injuries. They now face trumped-up charges that could result in fines, probation, and jail time. While the Frederick Four need our support to fight these charges, they did not want to lose sight of what brought them to the streets to begin with. This is why they marched….”

Overlaid is the text: Why we marched “For me, getting involved in protests and marches has been a long time coming. I have felt like a witness rather than an active member of the world for most of my life, watching uprising after uprising and feeling in awe of the bravery, power, and love in practice by ordinary people. I don’t think it was something I could be a part of but after watching injustice after injustice I figured who cares. I’ll try to be part of it anyways. And once I started meeting people who do protest work, I started feeling like I had a place and could be an active force for change or betterment, rather than an observer to suffering. Now, it’s a way for me to engage in the world with purpose, compassion, and energy for my community.”
