It's an amazing skill! It's not hard to learn either (to make basic, functional stitches), but once you get good at it? You can create your own clothes! I'm so impressed by people who can do that.

I can do this! While I had COVID 2 years ago and couldn't really do much other than isolate I ordered a sewing machine and some fabric online and just fucked about with it until made a dress which I've worn to two weddings now! 😇
That is so cool!
that’s awesome! most of the process is trial and error. I made mostly athletic clothes so far, dealing with stretchy fabrics is not for the faint of heart but now it’s easier for me than regular fabrics
Oof, yeah, that sounds like a challenge! The hardest thing I've made so far was a frame bag for a bike - because that was all heavy-duty materials like wax-backed ripstop nylon. Total opposite end of the spectrum!
I can’t make a living out of it yet but I’ve recently started making bags and it seems I’ve really hit a stride with them, stuff like this
those are fantastic!! do you make a bag with a separate shoe compartment? lol that’s what I want in a gym bag 🙂
the duffel has two big pockets on the side that easily fit shoes, they’re about 15x15x4 inches
nice
You MADE those!? OMG those look so good!
thank you!
